What This Is About

More Than A Prize

This challenge is intentionally designed to create action, growth, and real-world proof. You are not being rewarded for talking about what you want to do. You are being rewarded for doing it.

Over the course of the challenge, you will choose one meaningful goal, take consistent action, document your progress, and show the evidence of what happened. Winning requires consistency, initiative, courage, documentation, follow-through, and measurable progress.

Personal Growth

Resilience, discipline, confidence, and character built through real-world pressure.

Real-World Execution

Action, outreach, communication, leadership, and follow-through that produce actual results.

Tangible Impact

Revenue generated, funds raised, opportunities created, projects completed, skills developed, or value created for others.

Self-Driven Accountability

You own your goal, your tracking, your proof, your monthly updates, and your results.

Engagement Within Genius Youth And Genius Network

Use the people, ideas, mentorship, and resources around you instead of trying to do everything alone.

Core Idea

One Continuous Focus

Each participant selects one specific goal or project to work on for the entire 5-month challenge. Your goal must be:

  • Clear and specific — You should know exactly what you are working toward.
  • Measurable or trackable — You should be able to show progress through evidence, results, milestones, or documented action.
  • Aligned with Genius Network resources — Use what you have learned through Genius Youth and the free Genius Network online resources to create real progress.

Examples

  • Build and launch an app.
  • Land a new job or internship through networking and outreach.
  • Start and grow a business.
  • Improve a key skill like sales, communication, or leadership.

The point is not to jump from goal to goal. The point is to choose one meaningful focus and consistently execute on it over time.

Monthly Submissions

Required Each Month

Each month, participants must submit a 1-minute video reflection covering:

What You Worked On

The specific part of your goal or project you focused on that month.

Actions Taken

What you actually did.

Progress Toward Your Goal

What moved forward, what improved, what changed, or what result was created.

Supporting Evidence

Photos, screenshots, receipts, outreach logs, results, or other proof that supports what you say in your video.

The focus is simple: Show consistent effort and progress on the same goal each month.

Monthly Video Prompts

What To Cover In Your 1-Minute Update

Each month, use your video to answer these questions:

  • What did I work on this month?
  • What actions did I take?
  • What progress did I make toward my goal?
  • What proof do I have?

You do not need to write an essay. Show your proof, tell the truth, and document what happened.

Final Submission

Your 2-Minute Video

At the end of October, you will submit a final 2-minute video telling the story of your full challenge journey. Your final video should include:

  • Summary of your full journey — What you worked on and how the process unfolded.
  • Final results and outcomes — What happened by the end of the challenge.
  • Key lessons learned — What the challenge taught you about yourself, your goal, and your ability to execute.
  • Supporting evidence — Proof of the actions you took, progress you made, and results you created.

Select videos may be featured at the Genius Network Annual Event in November.
